Alpinist Hut is located in the Rusenski Lom River valley near the village of Basarbovo, beside the Polomie climbing area. The climbing sites near Basarbovo are about 10 km from Ruse. The rocks close to the hut offer about 40 climbing routes from the 5th to the 9th grade, and the area is the closest climbing site to Bucharest, often visited by Romanian climbers.
In October 2024 the hut was described as neglected, with the surroundings overgrown. A tourist association from Ruse won a project to repair the hut and develop the climbing area. The hut is currently temporarily closed.
