Barikadite Hut

Barikadite Hut is a massive three-storey building in the historic Barikadite locality in the Sredna Gora mountains, on the border between the lands of Starosel (Hisarya Municipality) and Koprivshtitsa. It was built by an initiative committee of former partisans as a memorial house for the "Georgi Benkovski" partisan brigade and is part of the Barikadite memorial complex.

In 1943-1944 the brigade wintered in dugouts in the area. The complex was built from 1965. The tourist building included a hotel-restaurant, a meeting hall, a tourist kitchen and a museum collection. The locality was declared a protected area by Order No. 77 of 3 February 1986. The site has been in decline since 1990 and the hut is no longer operating today.
