Bogdan Hut

Bogdan Hut is located at Plachkova Polyana locality in Sredna Gora, at the western foot of Bogdan Peak, in the Bogdan reserve, at about 1,550 m above sea level. In 1930 Koprivshtitsa hikers founded a tourist society, and the hut was built in 1938. In 1960–1968 it was expanded with a new building and additional bungalows.

The hut was destroyed by a fire of unknown cause in the mid-1990s. As of 2020, only partly preserved walls and mobile-operator masts remain on the site. The Bulgarian Tourist Union and Koprivshtitsa municipality launched a donation campaign to rebuild it.

The site is reached on foot from Koprivshtitsa in about 3 hours, and Golyam Bogdan Peak is about 40 minutes away.
