Gorski Ray Hut

Gorski Ray Hut stands at 1,450 m in northwestern Stara Planina, in the Bekinska Shobarka locality, right next to the Chuprene Biosphere Reserve. It lies about 17 km from the village of Chuprene and about 35 km from Belogradchik. The hut has 34 beds, indoor sanitary facilities, local heating, a water supply and electricity from a generator.

Five eco-trails lead to the hut; the shortest starts in Chuprene, is about 9 km long and climbs about 900 m. There are also marked mountain-bike routes. The hut is a starting point for climbing Midzhur along a marked eco-trail through the reserve, which takes about 5 hours. The hut is not open all year round and works by advance reservation with a deposit.
