Kom Hut (Old)

The old Kom hut is a two-storey building in the Pokoya locality of the Berkovska Balkan, at about 1,620 m above sea level, at the foot of Kom peak. It is about 30 minutes by dirt road from the new Kom hut, which stands in the Gorna Koria locality at about 1,506 m.

Trails from the old hut lead to Kom peak (about 1.5-2 hours) and a summer hiking route to Petrohan hut. The two Kom huts are a starting point for the Bulgarian section of the European route E-3 (Kom - Emine). In 2026 the old hut was not operating and was not being run; it offers a view of the Ogosta reservoir, and a captured spring with cold water is nearby.
