The hut is a waypoint on the European long-distance trail E3 (Kom – Emine). From it, Kom Hut is reached in about 3 h 30 min and Probojnitsa Hut in about 4 h 45 min, while the Todorini Kukli rock formations are about 2 h away.
The hut was privatized in 2005–2006 and no longer operates as a public tourist hut. Since 2022 the building has been used as a base by the NAKZT association. In February 2026 it was partly burned; the canteen and cafe were burned, and water supply and electricity are no longer available.
