Planinets Hut is on Vitosha, in the Svrachara locality on the northern slopes of the mountain. The site was chosen in 1931 by a group of Bulgarian army officers; the hut was built in 1937 and has been rebuilt many times since.
On foot, the hut is about 2 hours from Knyazhevo via Byalata Voda and from Boyana via Kopitoto, about 2 h 20 min from Vladaya past Iglika Hut and the Dendrarium, and about 40 min from Zlatnite Mostove. Septemvri and Momina Skala huts are nearby (about 30 min), as are Planinarska Pesen and Tintyava (about 1 hour). The area suits hiking, mountain biking and orienteering.
