Planinets Hut is located in Stara Planina, on a side ridge north of the Trevnenski pass and off the main ridge. The building is solid and three-storey, with a tourist kitchen and a dining room. The hut has showers and a bathroom, and meals are available on advance request. Camping is allowed.
The hut is about 1.5 km along a trail from the Balgarka forest lodge. The trail is marked blue towards the town of Plachkovtsi, and a shorter path leads to the natural landmark Golemiya Buk (the Big Beech) and to the Kom–Emine route on the main ridge.
