Proboynitsa Hut

Proboynitsa Hut is a four-storey building on the bank of the Proboynitsa River, in the Koznitsa mountain of Western Stara Planina, about 3 km from the village of Gubislav. Between 2021 and 2023 the building was fully renovated. The hut has 34 places in rooms with two and four beds, each with its own bathroom, and two shared rooms with seven beds each, served by a bathroom and toilet on the floor. It offers hot meals, and it is reached by an asphalt road to Gubislav and about 3 km of gravel road passable by a passenger car. In the past the hut had 10 seasonal bungalows, which no longer operate.

The hut is a waypoint on the European long-distance trail E3 (Kom – Emine). Hiking routes lead from it to the huts Belata Voda, Petrohan, Parshevitsa and Trastena, as well as to the Lakatnik Rocks.
