- Information updated
Ribni Ezera Hut is a complex made up of a solid two-storey building with about 60 places in shared rooms and several wooden bungalows, with a total capacity of 120 places. The ground floor of the main building houses a kitchen block and a canteen, and the toilets and bathroom are shared. The hut is heated by solid-fuel stoves, and electricity comes from its own small hydroelectric plant and a generator. In winter it is usually self-service.
It was built in 1940–1941 by the Bulgarian Tourist Union, Sofia Municipality and the Rila Monastery, and was originally named "St. Ivan Rilski". It was extended and thoroughly renovated in 1958–1959.
The hut stands between the Upper and Lower Ribni Lakes at the foot of the Ostreshki ridge. The peaks Kyoravitsa, Kanarata and Yosifitsa rise around the lakes.
