Selimitsa Hut was built in 1930 under the direction of the mining engineer Helmut Brox and opened on 17 May, his birthday. It stands in the Lenishtata area on the southwestern slopes of Vitosha, below Selimitsa peak, at about 1,300 m above sea level.
In 2003 the building was thoroughly renovated, and in 2011 it was refurbished again. The hut can be reached from the village of Kladnitsa (about 3 km), from the Vladaya district and from Zlatnite Mostove past Ostritsa Hut, as well as from the village of Merchaevo through the abandoned Selimitsa quarry, on a path that crosses two stone rivers.
The hut has not operated since April 2025.
