Staroplaninets Hut is located in the Lozeto locality on the outskirts of the town of Etropole, at about 575 m above sea level in Stara Planina. The solid two-storey building has 50 beds in rooms. The hut is owned by the Staroplaninski Turist tourist society of Etropole.
The hut is reached by about 2 km of asphalt road from Etropole, and there is parking. The hut has a restaurant and a buffet. Nearby destinations are the Etropole Holy Trinity Monastery (about 1.5 hours) and the Strazhata (about 5 hours), Chavdar (about 5.5 hours) and Rudinata (about 6 hours) huts.
