Strazhata Hut is located in the Kokalskoto locality of Zlatishko-Tetevenska Planina, northeast of Strazhata Peak, at about 1,183 m above sea level. It is run by the Staroplaninski Turist tourist society of Etropole.
The building has 29 beds in rooms, shared sanitary facilities and bathrooms, local heating, a tourist canteen and a buffet. Next to the hut there are a ski wardrobe, a ski slope with ski lifts and a car park.
The hut is reached from Etropole in about 4.5 hours and from the village of Yamna in about 2.5 hours. Kashana Hut is about 2.5 hours away and the Etropole Holy Trinity Monastery about 3 hours.
