Svoboda Hut is in the Prespa part of the Central Rhodopes, at the western foot of Svoboda Peak (1915 m), north of the village of Davidkovo, at about 1820 m above sea level. Until 1971 the peak was called Eni Han Baba, and the hut is the starting point for climbing it. The hut has a dining room, a kitchen and rooms – three triple rooms, one quadruple room and one room for nine people.
A new asphalt road leads to the hut, and there is a small parking lot in front of it. Across from the parking lot starts a landscaped path of 604 steps that climbs to the summit in about half an hour. The summit is an ancient sanctuary where, for centuries, people from the Rhodopes, both Christians and Muslims, climbed in summer for a sacrificial feast.
Prespa Hut is about 2 hours away on foot, and the walk from Momchil Yunak Hut to this hut takes about 4 hours 15 minutes heading east.
