- Information updated
Tazha Hut stands at 1,520 m above sea level in the Kaloferska Planina range, part of Central Stara Planina, southeast of Rusalka peak (until 1942 called Maragidik). The first hut on the site was built in 1927 beside the Tazha River under the name "Maragidik". Between 1946 and 1948 a new two-storey building was erected slightly higher up. In 2000 the Bulgarian Tourist Union handed the hut over to the Prista tourist society of Ruse to run, which has renovated it, including replacing the windows and repairing the roof. Since October 2016 solar panels on the roof have fed a water boiler.
The hut is a stop on the European long-distance path E3 (Kom–Emine). It is reached from Apriltsi (Ostrets district) in about 3 hours, from Kalofer (Panitsite locality) in about 5 hours and from Tazha village in about 5 hours 30 minutes. Nearby are Triglav (about 2 h), Rusalka (about 3 h) and Mazalat (about 3 h 30 min) huts, Maragidik peak (about 1 h) and the Kademliysko Praskalo waterfall (about 1 h 15 min).
