Vasil Levski Hut was built in the 1920s under the name "Yumrukchal" and has carried its present name since 1954. It burned down in 1933 and was later rebuilt and enlarged. Today the complex includes a massive two-storey building and a seasonal bungalow with 12 places, with a total capacity of about 75 places. The hut has a water supply, electricity from a generator and a small hydropower plant, solid-fuel stoves, sanitary facilities with showers, a tourist kitchen, a dining hall and a small bar.

It is a reserve point on the European long-distance trail E3 (Kom – Emine) and a starting point for the Karlovo Waterfall (26 m) about 20 minutes away, Kostenurkata peak (2035 m) about 1 h 30 min away and Botev peak (2376 m) about 4 hours away. The trails in the area are marked, and the hut is linked to Balkanski Rozi, Hubavets, Dobrila, Pleven, Rai, Tazha and Mandrata huts.
