Krastets Tourist Hostel

Krastets Tourist Hostel stands in a pine forest about 100 m west of Krastets railway station on the Trans-Balkan railway line, at about 912 m above sea level. It is 12 km from Plachkovtsi and 18 km by asphalt road from Tryavna. It is managed by the tourist society TD "Akademik – VTU" of Veliko Tarnovo.

The complex has two separate buildings with 40 beds in rooms for three, four and five people. The ground floor has large and small dining rooms, a self-service kitchen and washrooms, one of them with hot water for bathing. The second-floor bedrooms are heated by electric and solid-fuel stoves. Nearby are parking for about 8 cars, covered and open rest areas with a barbecue and fire pit, and a tent camping area.

The hostel is a starting point for trips in the area: the chapel of St. Ivan of Rila the Wonderworker on Golyam Krastets peak, the "Gledkata" panoramic viewpoint, the eco-trail and the "Bazovets" shelter, as well as Tryavnenska Planina with the Konarskoto area, the medieval fortress Tsarska Mogila and the "Kiliite" caves.
