Karaivanovo Horishte Shelter

Karaivanovo Horishte Shelter is a solid single-storey building with 10 bunk places, located in the locality of the same name in the Elena-Tvarditsa part of Stara Planina at an altitude of 1,131 m. The building has no heating or electricity, and the sanitary facilities are outside. A water source is 60–70 metres from the shelter.

The shelter is unstaffed, open year-round and intended for short emergency stays. It is a point on the European E3 trail and the Kom–Emine trail, between Butora peak and Bukovets Hut. It is about 5 hours to Predela Hut at the Republic Pass and about 2.45 hours to Bukovets Hut. The shelter is managed by the Hemus tourist society of Veliko Tarnovo.
