Information updated

Kornishki Lakes Shelter was built by the Pirin National Park Directorate with funds from the Operational Programme Environment 2007-2013, around 2015. It stands in the Kornishki cirque, beside one of the former lakes in the Krivite vadi locality, at about 2182 m above sea level.

The Kornishki cirque is bounded by Yanuzov Rid and Lishauv Rid and by the main ridge of Pirin. It holds the Kornishki Lakes, two permanent lakes and one temporary lake, from which a right tributary of the Tufcha River begins. The hike to Hleven peak (2,645 m) passes through the cirque and by the lakes.

The cirque and the shelter are reached by trail from Mecha Polyana and from the Todorova Polyana locality, as well as from the area of Breznitsa village. The shelter has also been used for winter trips with an overnight stay.
